LIVE IN LOVE WITH YOGI RECAP

A few weeks ago I invited women to explore. I invited women to walk out of their comfort zones, open their minds and unlock their hearts to explore the concepts of Self love and Yoga. On August 27th in New York City, LiveNaturallyLove presented Live In Love With Yogi  a Self Love Yoga Class/Workshop.

LIVE IN LOVE WITH YOGI

The room filled with 15 young women. Once they arrived I invited the women to sit on their mats in the center of the room, with a wall length mirror to the right and wall wide windows to the left. Once all of the students have arrived we began the class with a short, mind opening mediation. With their eyes closed, feet crossed, palms up and soothing instrumentals I led the first time yogis through an array of self love questions such as:

1. Who was the first person you thought of this morning? Was it you?

2. Are you aware of your self-talk. What was the first thing you said to yourself this morning? Was it positive or negative ?

After allowing the women to get out of their heads and into their minds the class began with an hour long Vinyasa Flow. Vinyasa Yoga leads students through a sequenced practice that encourages students to move through the breath. Vinyasa translates to "arranging something in a special way".

SELF LOVE YOGA

The women were encouraged to not be afraid to challenge themselves! While trying new and difficult poses they were able to challenge theirselves and others. There are some challenges we can not face on our own. We always need love and support. This was one of the main concepts taught during the self love vinyasa flow. We explored the practice of Partner Yoga which involves difficult support based poses that could only be done by trusting another.  Hand in hand  and by trusting their selves and each other they were able to successfully learn a new pose.

After the Vinyasa Flow and a short intermission the Self-Love Workshop began. The women were invited to stand in front of the wall wide mirror and look at theirselves, identifying their biggest insecurity. Once identified turn to the person next to you and list their insecurities. It was liberating to speak insecurities out loud! The women were surprised to find they share the same insecurities!

This was an amazing workshop and class. All that attended open their hearts and mind explored within themselves. The women left the class with a better awareness and understanding of themselves. It was an unique experience for all! No matter your shape or size. I appreciate all that came to show love and support.
